Family life on the Coast

Sunset on Caroline Bay

I am a big fan of the Central Coast as a wonderful place to bring up your family. I have lived here most of my life,
and have seen the Coast slowly grow and evolve over time. Yet somehow the natural beauty of the place – the beaches,
the bush, the wildlife – still manages to trump the manufactured requirements of the inhabitants – the homes, the
shopping centres, even that arterial lifeline to the big smoke, the F3, is dwarfed all up and down its slithering
sides by the abundance of native bush.
Fun for families on the Coast is limited only to the imagination – from the obvious sun, surf and sand adventures, to
the hidden gems of walking trails, fishing spots and picnic areas dotted all around. As the Coast grows, so too does
the variety of activities offered by local organisations and businesses – markets, art classes, animal parks, indoor
sports, outdoor adventure parks, horse riding, surf lessons, galleries…
So I am tasking myself with sharing all the Coast has to offer for families, and as a Coast native and mum of three
kids ranging from a toddler to almost a teen, I will focus on free or cheap family activities that children of all ages
can enjoy.
Wether you’re new to the Coast and unsure of what’s on offer, or you’ve lived here forever and just looking for something
different to do with your kids on a rainy day, coastplay will keep you up to date with lots of fun and unique activities.
So have fun, go play!
